The American Dream. The American Dream is made up of many different aspects and ideas. Like moving up the social , escaping poverty , freedom ,equality , pursuing our interests and passions , opinions and safety. Most of the dreams are different for an individual depending on their situation. Poverty is a struggle in life. Not having enough to eat , not having heat and shelter. For the kids , life in poverty is much tougher to overcome than those who already have help with wealth. Being a kid and worrying that you have nothing to eat , or having nowhere to live causes lots of negativity mentally like depression. So than the solution comes to your head. She was changing the subject to backup from an argument Opportunity is connected to the American dream since people want to have the power to open up as many doors to life. Like starting a business , a family , becoming a doctor , fighting for rights. We have the choice to do anything in life, in â€Å" I Just Wanna Be Average, by Mike Ross , Mike has the opportunity go to college. He later ends up explaining how other students have been able to go to college. This shows how we have the opportunity to do whatever we like after high school. My parents childhood was very harsh and full of darkness in Mexico. They worked all day long to eat and to put money on the tables. Which they rarely had various of options to eat. Later on my father came to america as an illegal immigrant . and knew that his kids were not going to be born in mexico. He worked all day long raised money and than in a few years, became a u.s citizen. Without the power of opportunity he would not have had the chance to raise kids here, escape poverty, raise a family, and not become a citizen.
